HELP - WANTED!
UMPIRE SECRETARY
We are very fortunate that Katie has streamlined and made positive changes to the role helping those who come in and take over. We feel that 2 people sharing the role would lighten the load even further and so encourage everyone to have a think about coming forward. Katie has very kindly offered to be there to transition the role over and show the new umpire secretary(ies) the ropes. You do not need to commit to doing this long term - a year as Katie has done would be deeply appreciated. Catch Katie for a chat this week if you are interested!

The ideal candidate should ideally have some of the following characteristics: excellent organisational skills, effective communicator, positive, enthusiastic & good listener.
What does the role involve?
Responsibility for management & organisation of umpires at all levels.
Allocation of the umpires to games according to their qualification, teams and co umpires
Assist & liaise with umpires on match nights
Attend and contribute at committee meetings, EGM & AGM
Share relevant information with umpires and social media secretary
Liaise with regional umpiring secretary and promote umpiring within the region
Umpire record keeping inline with GDPR
Communicate with umpires
Liaise with fixtures secretary to ensure maximum umpire availability
Submit candidates for their testing for EN awards – into, C,B & A
Rotational duty of care on match nights

UMPIRE SECRETARY
We are sad to announce that Katie is stepping down as Umpire Secretary after a fantastic year in the role! I know we will all miss her and wish her all the best for the future! Please join me in thanking Katie for what, I think we can all agree, was an AMAZING job this winter and summer season!
This is a great opportunity for someone, or 2 people as a job share, to join our wonderful committee of volunteers!
