England Netball Umpiring courses have been designed to help you to develop the skills you need to become a qualified Umpire. Please see the link below to ENA online courses.
Below you will find a simplified chart to help you understand the process you need to follow to start achieving your own personal goals to get more involved with Netball via the League Pathway. This will be a journey you are going to really enjoy and one where you will meet fantastic and enthusiastic people, all whilst enabling our fantastic sport to be played and increase your knowledge and understanding.
Starting with the Into Officiating level you are able to apply and book on to a course through the England Netball Website. Go through to the site, be involved, Officiating and then courses. The courses are run over 2 sessions and are all virtual. If there are no courses available when you first look you will see on the website a Declaration of Interest Form to complete which means you will hear about the next release of courses as they happen. Once you have done the 2 sessions you will then be able to join us at the Junior League where you will get mentoring to support you through to your formal assessment. But before you do this don’t forget to start practicing at your training working with a coach or another qualified umpire.
Once you have completed the Into Officiating Award you are able to continue to develop your skills at the Junior League and when you are ready you can book in the same way to attend a C Award Course. Again once you have completed the 2 on line sessions you will then continue your umpiring journey at the Wavell Senior League on a Monday and then on to a Wednesday to develop your skills for your formal assessment at this level.
The Wavell League and Hampshire Netball Association recognise that courses to achieve new qualifications can be costly and offers financial awards to support those who are involved in Netball.
Wavell’s Umpiring Co Ordinator is always here to help you as are the mentors that we are very lucky to have in our League. You can also reach out to the County Officiating Lead for Hampshire whose details are on the Hampshire Netball Website.
